Raja, the King!
Whenever I listen to 'Sundari, Kannal Oru Saeithi' song from Thalabathi, I don't remember an instance when I didn't stop to wonder why Mani Ratnam chose to drop him in his next project (am not sure if Anjali got released between Roja and Thalabathi, but nevertheless). Man, Raja is the king. There was a time when I used to compare him with my genie, Rahman. It seems like I have grown out of that stupid act. I am happy with any music as long as it attempts to appeal my soul.
Just a passing thought.

Roja released immediately after thalapathi...The reason Mani opted for Rahman was due to some differences between him and Raja and the rest is history!
True, I don't compare the two...They catered to different generations. while the veteran relied more on tune, the then rookie depended on "sound". Both are two great masters in their own respect. (I can't control writing when it comes to the music of these two.Better I stop here lest this shud turn out to be a post instead of a comment ;-))

It is just a growing curve from Rahmanite to Rajaite...

I totally agree with Ram... I have had some passionate discussions about their music. And Rams has just about summed it up :)
